After 10-days of maintenance work, Russia started gas supply of its Nord-Stream pipeline to Europe. Although this maintenance work is done annually, due to the backdrop of Russia-Ukraine war and the deteriorating relationship between Russia and the West there was a cloud of doubt whether Russia would continue its supply of gas to Ukraine.

But still the Nord Stream 1 pipeline is not running with its full capacity. The reason for this as stated by Russia is because of the delays in running the Siemens Energy Turbine. The turbine is now under maintenance work in Canada and was previously withheld citing sanctions with Russia.

Now, Canada has exempted the turbine from sanctions and the turbine is now sent to Germany. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has previously assured that the country would make sure that it would fulfill its contractual obligations.
